The University of Leicester distance learning MBA degree provides students with the skills necessary to become an adept manager in today’s global business environment. This course will equip you with a thorough understanding of current and emerging theories, techniques, and practices of international business management.
Upon partaking the Leicester MBA through distance learning, you will be able to combine online and face-to-face learning to suit your needs. The online learning environment lets you study anytime, anywhere, whilst the annual Leicester Masterclass and regular residential workshops held at the Global Centres help you hone the skills that are best practised face-to-face, giving you unparalleled opportunities to gain cross-cultural experiences and expand global interconnectedness related abilities and knowledge. The Global Centres are located in the UK, the Middle East, Southern Europe, and East & West Africa, so you can stay close to home or travel the world to broaden your horizons.
You will efficiently develop the skills needed to think creatively, critically and strategically about a wide range of business issues, in addition to excelling the awareness of cultural sensitivity, as well as the ability to work in a cross-cultural, multinational, team-based environment.
The course will allow you to integrate and apply the knowledge, approaches and methods that you have learnt to a variety of case studies and your own managerial and work experiences.
It allows you to concentrate on general management or to tailor the course to suit your individual career needs. Areas of specialism include Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management.

Launched in 1989, the Leicester MBA was one of the first AMBA accredited distance learning MBA programmes in the world.
Dual qualification: The School of Business is an approved HE Partner of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Graduates are also awarded a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

As you progress through the programme you will compile a Learning and Professional Development Portfolio – a record of your learning, reflection, attainment of skills and engagement in career development. This portfolio will help you evidence your professional competencies to current and future employers.
Fees include all e-learning material from the University.
An undergraduate degree from an approved institution, which is equivalent to a UK Honours Degree; or an acceptable professional qualification, such as CIMA or ACCA.
We also encourage applications from those with either the University of Leicester's Diploma in Management or the University of Leicester's Professional Diploma in Management.
At least 3-5 years relevant working experience (defined as having worked in a supervisory, managerial or professional role).
If your undergraduate degree or other academic qualifications are not considered as equivalent to a UK Honours with a 2:2, or if you do not possess an undergraduate degree and wish to apply, you will be required to demonstrate at least 5 years relevant work experience (defined as having worked in a supervisory, managerial or professional role), and either one of the following:
English language proficiency –
The MBA Admissions Assessment is utilised to assess English language proficiency. This involves a multiple-choice section which will test your knowledge of the English language for business and reading skills and completing a 400-word essay asking you to reflect on your professional experiences.
OR, submit an IELTS test score of 6.5 with 7.0 in writing OR a TOEFL Test of 250 (Computer)/575 (Paper)/90 (IBT)
