About the Programme

  • The Certificate in Human Resource Management introduces you to some of the key functions and theories within HRM and training within organisations. Topics covered include Management and Labour; Education, Training and Skills at Work; Learning in Theory and Practice; Human Resource Development and the Learning Process; Globalisation and Skills, and Human Resource Management and Training Policy.

  • The Certificate in HRM programme consists of 6 modules, which are assessed by assignments.


  • The Certificate will enable you to understand the uses and limits of coaching and mentoring in the workplace.

  • Students will assess the theory and practice of management, considering the importance of leadership and the HRM function, and upon completion, will be able to present a coherent assessment of training management policy in their own organisation.

Entry Requirements

  • Each of the available qualifications (BSc, Diploma or Certificate) has different entry requirements. We may also be able to recognise previous study and work experience so that you can begin studying at the diploma or bachelors level.

  • A-levels or equivalent

  • Plus at least three years' relevant work experience (paid or voluntary)

  • Or we will consider equivalent qualifications (in level and content) to the Diploma, plus substantial relevant work experience. Please note that we can only consider qualifications taken within the past five years.
