Entry Requirements for Online Bachelors in Infection Control & Prevention Degree (IPC)
Healthcare professionals wanting to work or specialise in Infectious Diseases, Infection prevention, Health Protection, Infection Prevention or Infection control should enrol in this degree.
Students must hold 120 credits at Level 7 and 120 credits at Level 8 or equivalent.
Evidence of English language ability equivalent to IELTS 6.5 may be requested if English is not the first language.

Infection Prevention and Control in Practice
On completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the skills required to participate in the development of operational and strategic initiatives at local and national level.
- Appraise the ethical, legal and professional issues surrounding accountability and understand the consequences of failing to practise safely.
- Evaluate the decision making process, risk assessment, multi-professional and multi-disciplinary working, accountability and governance within complex situations, such as decontamination, outbreak management and the built environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to formulate, implement and evaluate learning and teaching strategies that promote quality and safe care.
- Examine and discuss core components of quality improvement and patient safety principles, approaches and application to service delivery.
